The St Patrick’s College Wellington 125 years Jubilee will be a significant milestone for the oldest Catholic Boy’s college in New Zealand.
It will also be a milestone for the Society of Mary religious priests and brothers who long ago rallied to the request of Archbishop Redwood to establish an authentic Catholic education for young New Zealanders.
To this end a Jubilee committee has been established and are actively engaged in putting together the plans for a memorable occasion. The Committee comprises representatives of
- the St Patrick’s College Old Boys Association: Chris McCarthy, Mark McGuinness and Evan Bayly
- the Board of Trustees: Mary English, Mike Curtis and Gino Cuccurullo
- the Development Officer: Loretta Love
- the staff: Rector, Fr Paul Martin SM, and Wayne Mills
- the Society of Mary: Fr John Murphy SM and Bro. Matt Morris SM
Queen’s Birthday Weekend 2010 will be our time of celebration.
As a committee, we are very motivated to attract as many Old Boys and supporters from the St Patrick’s family to reconnect with and remember their time at college. We will salute the almost 100 years of history at the Basin Reserve site and the quarter century of history that has now passed at the Kilbirnie site.
